Domain Migration in Windows


a.)    Migrating User Profiles:

1.)    Migrate User from ADMT:

2.)    User’s End:
i.)                  Save all files in user’s Desktop/Laptop
ii.)                 Check for Server, Netlogon, Workstation & Remote Registry services. All should be STARTED.clip_image028[4]

iii.)               Add Company Domain Admin to local admin group.

iv.)               Change DNS of local PC to 172.20.50.9

v.)                 Reset/Remember Local user’s credential.

3.)    Server’s End:
i.)                  On ADMT, Go to Computer Migration Wizard.

ii.)                Add Computer name to be migrated:

iii.)               Select respective OU:

iv.)               Select Run Pre-check and agent opertaion and click START:

v.)                        On Screen, Pre-Check will show PASSED and Agent Operation will continue for next 15-20 mins. After this the User’s Computer will reboot automatically.

4.)    User’s End:
i.)                  Rejoin Company.com by logging from Local admin profile.

ii.)                Click Yes.
iii.)               Reboot the Computer.

iv.)               Login through Company\(username) credential.

v.)                 Finish.
