How to Configure NFS on Win2003

Introduction


  1. Login the server using Administrator account
  2. Double click SFU35SEL_EN.exe
  3. Click Run

  1.  Change to a proper location and click Unzip

  1.   After the extraction is completed, double click sfusetup.msi

  1.  Accept the agreement, and then Next

  1.    Select “Custom Installation”

  1. Select “User Name Mapping”. For other components, keep the default.

  1. Select both the check box, and Next

  1.   Change Windows domain name to SYSDEV

  1.  Server reboot is required after the installation.




Product / application Configuration

    1. Copy /etc/passwd and /etc/group from Unix box to c:\SFU folder
    2. Start the “Services for Unix Administration”

    1.  Click “User Name Mapping” and then click “Use Password and Group files”. Provide the location of files as shown below. Click Apply

    1.   Click List Windows Users and List Unix Users. Add the user map. Note: unixmap is a normal ID created on Win server to map root on Unix. Click Apply after the map

    1.  On the Win folder level, right click and click properties

    1. Grant unixmap read/write permission. Then click NFS Sharing

    1.  Click Share this folder and then click Permissions

    1.  Change “type of access” to “Read-Write” and check “Allow root access”

    1.  Click OK and OK again.
