Method 1:

Remove using the standard Windows removal method. use appwiz.cpl command in Run ( Press windows +R)
or
Alternatively, you can go to Add or remove programs after searching for programs by clicking on the Windows Icon on your machine.

Now Remove all the programs one by one named with McAfee and restart your system.
NOTE: If you use Windows 11, you can follow the steps for Windows 10. The steps to remove the product are similar for Windows 11 and 10. After the removal process, your McAfee products are no longer installed on your PC.
Method 2:
Remove using the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR)
You must only use the MCPR tool if the Windows removal methods shown above don’t work

Download the MCPR tool. You may refer here as well: https://gitlab.betpump.com/nandlal.yadav/sophos

Double-click MCPR.exe.

If you see a security warning: Click Yes, Continue, or Run (depending on your version of Windows):

In the McAfee Software Removal screen:
-
Click Next.
-
Click Agree to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).

In the Security Validation screen:
-
Type the characters exactly as shown on your screen. Validation is case-sensitive.

Click Next. This step prevents the accidental use of MCPR.

When the process is complete, you see one of the following messages. Click the one that you see.
Removal Complete
If you see this message, the MCPR tool has been completed successfully. Restart your PC to complete the removal process.
Cleanup UnsuccessfulIf you see this message, the cleanup did not go as planned:

Restart your PC and run MCPR again.

If you see Cleanup Unsuccessful again, ignore it.

Restart your PC again.

Attempt to reinstall your McAfee software.
If you are still unable to install:

Click here to contact McAfee Customer Service.

Let the agent know:

MCPR produced a Cleanup Unsuccessful message.

You are unable to reinstall your McAfee software.

IMPORTANT:
-
Always download a new copy of MCPR before each use.
When you use the latest version, newer McAfee products can be successfully recognized. -
MCPR cleans up only the components needed for reinstallation. It is not designed to clean up 100% of components.

Completing this step requires a restart.
Additionally, Please run the below commands in PowerShell admin mode as well:

Click Start, type PowerShell, right-click Windows PowerShell, and then click Run as administrator
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force
Get-AppxPackage 5A894077.McAfeeSecurity| Remove-AppxPackage
Uninstall-Package -Name "McAfee Safe Connect" -Force

Verify the file C:\Program Files\McAfee\MfeAV\MfeAVSvc.exe is completely removed.
If the above doesn't resolve, please work with ITops on call in the shift to ensure we got C:\Program Files\McAfee\MfeAV\MfeAVSvc.exe file removed.
